Extended Market Hours FAQ

Extended Market Hours

You now have the ability to trade the MAG 7 / Magnificent 7 equity markets in the pre open session, 09:01-14:30 (UK Time), in addition to the core hours of the NASDAQ and New York Stock Exchange, 14:31-21:00

Please note, during Day Light Saving time (DST), which includes a three week period in March and a one week period in October, opening times for extended hours markets will be adjusted to 08:01-20:00 (UK time)

In addition to extended trading hours for the MAG 7 markets, we offer a range of Index, Commodity and FX markets which are available for trading almost 24/5.

Trading the ‘Magnificent Seven’ stocks during pre-market extended hours (09:01 to 14:30 UK time) enables you to speculate on these popular US tech shares before the main market opens at 14:31. This gives you greater flexibility in managing your positions and risk, allowing you to react earlier to earnings reports—typically released before or after the core market hours of 14:30 to 21:00 (UK time)—as well as other breaking news or global events that may influence these stocks.

Trading outside the main market hours (when the stock exchange is closed) comes with higher risk. Prices can be more unpredictable because fewer people are buying and selling, leading to lower trading activity. With fewer traders in the market, it’s harder to buy or sell at your preferred price, making prices more volatile and potentially moving more sharply than during normal hours.

During these conditions, prices can change more quickly than usual, and some trades may be harder to complete due to lower trading activity. You may also notice wider spreads compared to regular market hours.

Our order types and trade execution work as usual during extended-hours trading. Account liquidations also work as normal, so it’s important to make sure your account has enough funds and to allow enough time for any necessary deposit.

During extended-hours trading (09:01 – 14:30 UK time), our spreads may change because there are fewer traders in the market, leading to lower liquidity compared to the main session (2:31 PM – 21:00 UK time). Our spreads are based on market conditions, which is common in pre-market trading worldwide. This means trading during these hours could come with higher spread costs. You can check the current spread directly on the order ticket within the platform.

No, there are no extra trading fees or charges—our costs stay the same as during regular market hours. However, spreads may be wider than during the main session (14:31 – 21:00 UK time). This is because there are fewer traders in the market, leading to lower liquidity, which can make prices and spreads more volatile.

During extended trading hours, our share prices are based on data from multiple exchanges. Since market activity varies, prices may differ slightly from those seen during the main trading session (14:31 – 21:00 UK time).

Both stop and limit orders are available to use to manage your risk effectively during extended hours trading. Please note, orders are susceptible to slippage and gapping during extended hours trading due to lower market liquidity and higher volatility in the underlying markets.

The liquidation process works the same way as it does during core market hours, ensuring a smooth trading experience. Although liquidity may vary during extended hours, we strive to close positions at the best available price, following our Order Execution Policy. You can refer to this policy to learn more about how liquidations work
